Terms and Conditions

We insist that our terms and conditions are read and agreed, before we start any work, to protect the prices
to our genuine customers. We can send you these terms if you do not have access to the internet or a printer.

1st Promise, We will only use qualified staff who are trained to use gas, electricity or plumbing

We have Gas Safe qualified fitters who can move gas pipes and fit gas ovens.

Our qualified electricians can move wiring, install new plug points and wire up the electric ovens.

Our qualified plumbers can move water pipes and plumb in the sinks and bathrooms.

Unlike most carpenters, our qualified joiners can work with any type of wood in most situations.

2nd Promise, We will carry out a free survey and provide a free quotation for any work

Quotations can be verbal or written, they are estimates unless stated as a quote.

3rd Promise, We will explain why any work needs to be carried out and any alternatives if there are any

There may be some options to save money whilst remaining safe, the price will then depend on your taste.

4th Promise, We will provide you with free advice at any time.

During the period of work there is no limit to the amount of free advice you can receive about the service you are receiving or think you may require.

5th Promise, We will not be beaten on price by any genuine like for like quotations

We carry out our work to a 12 month guarantee standard. We need to cover the cost of our training, subscriptions, materials, labour, advertising, fuel for the quotations, phone service, public liability insurance, rubbish removal fees, and taxes and it is traditional to make a small % profit as well. So long as any rival price covers our costs, we will beat their price.

I would worry if our price is beaten as the rival quote may not be carrying out the work to the required standards.

6th Promise, We will carry out the work when it is convenient for you

Some work requires gaps between days to allow one treatment to dry before another is started. We generally start work at 7 to 8am until 3 to 4 pm to allow for the well being of our staff to avoid the traffic, remain safe and see their families. We do however understand if you have specific requirements and will fit around them as much as possible.

7th Promise, We will carry out the work using approved methods, materials and approved contractors

As qualified, skilled staff with many years of experience we will only use the approved methods of work with a right first time attitude.

We suggest that a suitably qualified electrician or plumber is used to remove any old pipes or wires that are within our work area. We can not take any responsibility for any old cables or pipes etc that are pinned to any of the work we are removing or replacing. it will be your responsability to have the wires or pipes removed firstly unless otherwise stated. This is generally old water pipes, telephone cables pinned and painted to the floor boards or door frames for example that you may want us to change.

8th Promise, We will carry out the work to 12 month guarantee standard unless otherwise requested

Generally we would like to source and supply materials that we know and use on a regular basis from our usual suppliers that we know and trust to inform us about new fitting methods and accessories or accept returns for damages for example. Cheaper materials and methods may be available but the warranty period would be reduced as a result. We will usually provide a 12 month guarantee on a kitchen that we source and supply from our usual suppliers and a 6 month workmanship guarantee on a kitchen that you source and supply for example. We will inform you of any changes to this general rule.

9th Promise, We will clean up after ourselves and take care in our work

We understand that you may not wish to leave us alone with your prized possessions, so to minimise your worries all valuables should be removed from the work area. We can not damage any furniture, pictures or carpets if there are no items left in the work area, so all items that you do not want to be damaged need to be removed from the work area.

Our damage liability is limited to 15% of the fully paid invoice total, so you must take care to remove or protect any expensive items that we may come into contact with as it could be damaged by us accidentally.

We will remove all of our rubbish from your site and dispose of it correctly. This may involve a skip charge if there are more than 8 bags of rubble. This is the monthly rubble limit imposed by most tips for private individuals; companies have to pay to tip.

10th Promise, We will make sure that you are happy with our work before we ask for a payment

We are family men and our aim is always to give a good service so we are able to sleep at night, knowing that we have done all that was possible that day to make you safe and happy.

Safety requests: We will assess the risks that we and you will face during our time at your property. We may discuss these arrangements and create a list of jobs, the methods we will use, the times, the equipment used, the chemicals used etc... and decide the safest way to complete your work.

We may have to request stair gates for small children or the removal of anybody from the property whilst using some tools, but we will explain why any safety requests are made.

To get the best prices, we do not use credit accounts with some building suppliers, so some stage payments may be required especially on larger jobs to pay for large material deliveries. For example, we may pay for the materials in advance, have them delivered to your premises and upon proof of delivery, we may then ask for that stage payment to cover those materials, or we may ask you to pay for a major shipment directly so you can ensure that the delivery is to your address.

In most cases however, no large deposits are required, we ask for payment on completion of the works with either

  • Building society cheques,

  • bankers drafts or

  • cash only accepted

If a job takes more than 1 week, it would be normal to ask for weekly stage payments to cover the staff wages. There should be an agreed stage arrived at each week to prove that a % of the work is complete before a pre agreed % is paid for. You should always be in a position where there is more work completed than has been paid for, until completion. Upon completion, all of the agreed invoice value should be paid.

Our warranty is invalid if the work has not been paid for in full.

Work Area and Damages: We carry AXA public liability insurance to cover the work carried out at your premises. You should not plan to gain from this cover by allowing us to damage unusually high priced articles left in the work area or by making us work in an area that contains unusually high priced articles. Damages are likely to happen in a work area and so all items that could be damaged need to be removed from the work area. Remember, our damage liability is limited to 15% of the fully paid invoice total, so you must take care to remove or protect any expensive items that we may come into contact with as it could be damaged by us accidentally.

We will not take any responsibility for any cables , pipes etc pinned to any work we are replacing, it is your responsability to have removed firstly unless otherwise stated. This is generally old water pipes, telephone cables pinned and painted to floor boards door frames etc.

It is intended that this insurance cover is for genuine claims for those people without the means to pay for the damages themselves and for accidents only.

We genuinly wish to give a low cost but 12 month guarantee standard of work to our genuine customers.
